Lorena Beaulieu is Clinical Lead for Sexual Assault/Domestic Violence Treatment Centre at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre in Ontario, Canada. She has worked as an On-Call nurse since 2012 and transitioned to Follow-up/Outreach Nurse in 2016. Lorena has experience in mental health and addictions and holds certification in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing (Canada) with Canadian Nurses Association and SANE-P with IAFN. She is a member of the Ontario Network of SADVTC’s Advisory Council providing a northern lens for SADV service provision. She has also participated as an advisory member in developing Northern Nursing Station e-Learning modules and webinars and Sex Trafficking e-Learning modules. Lorena is a Nurse Peer Reviewer for IAFN’s Education Committee. Within her community, she serves as a Board Member for Thunder Bay and Area Victim Services and a member of two local VAW Coordinating Committees and the Coalition to End Human Trafficking. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, she has established a telemedicine forensic care service for survivors in Northern Ontario and continues to work to develop implementation strategies to increase access to high-quality, evidence-based, trauma-informed care no matter where the survivor lives.
