Elaine Avshman is a 2nd year medical student at Texas A&M School of Medicine. She received her Bachelor’s of Science in Public Health at the University of Texas at Austin in 2020 and subsequently completed one year of clinical research at Northwell Health in New York State. She is currently a 2020 - 2021 Albert Schweitzer Fellow where she has created and implemented women’s health workshops for the Afghani refugee population in Austin, TX. She is passionate about obstetrics and gynecology, with a focus on family planning, gynecological oncology, and patient education. Her past research experience focuses on cancer prevention, postpartum depression, and overall women’s health education.
