Dr. Rebecca Thomas is a graduate of the University of South Alabama College of Nursing's RN-DNP Program, earning her MSN in 2014 and DNP in 2015. She served as a staff nurse in postpartum, newborn nursery, and labor and delivery in Pensacola, FL before becoming full-time faculty. Dr. Thomas is a board-certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner and an Assistant Professor at USA, coordinating OBGYN Nursing Care Theory and Clinical in the Accelerated BSN Program. She also created and coordinates Introduction to Scholarly Writing for the Graduate program. Dr. Thomas serves as the co-director of SOUTH SANES, a HRSA workforce grant-funded sexual assault nurse examiner development program. She is the president of the USA College of Nursing Faculty Organization, and community service coordinator for the Maternal Child Nursing Department. Dr. Thomas was the recipient of the College of Nursing's 2022 Excellence in Service Award.
