Building on over two decades of emergency nursing experience, Dr. Wilbeck's efforts within
academia have focused on creation of educational programs providing targeted training for emergency
nurse practitioners (ENPs) which inclusion of principles in caring for at-risk and underserved populations.
Through her ongoing clinical practice and national leadership roles, Dr. Wilbeck has advocated for inclusion of caring for assault victims into ENP education nationally and to ensure availability of
training opportunities to nurse practitioners in emergency care settings. As a result of her efforts to establish unique training opportunities, increased numbers of SANE prepared nurses have been added to the clinical workforce.
