Dr Melanie Lutenbacher, is a Research Associate Professor and Associate Professor of Nursing, Emerita at Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee. Her early clinical work as a family/pediatric nurse practitioner caring for underserved women and children supported the focus of her work as a maternal child health researcher. She has particular interest in working with families at-risk for or experiencing abuse and neglect. For the past 20 years she and team members have developed and evaluated academic and clinical programs and community interventions. She is the lead evaluator for the HRSA funded Vanderbilt Education Program – Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (VEP-SANE) Project.
